Exploring financing options for some of the island’s major projects was the central focus of discussions, when representatives of Citicorp Merchant Bank, paid a courtesy call on Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs, Christopher Sinckler.
During the meeting at Government Headquarters yesterday, Managing Director of Citicorp Caribbean and Central America Regional Executive, Suresh Maharaj, said the institution had a long-standing relationship with the Barbados government and pledged to continue those ties.
In turn, Minister Sinckler threw out a number of ideas including the modernisation of the sugar cane industry as an avenue for revenue assistance.
