Civil Aviation Week will be celebrated in Barbados from Sunday, December 4 to Saturday, December 10 under the theme Civil Aviation: Beyond Air Travel, Building Our Economy.

The Ministry of International Business and International Transport and its Civil Aviation Department will start the week with a church service at the Providence Methodist Church, Providence, Christ Church, on Sunday, December 4, beginning at 9:00 a.m. Minister of International Transport, George Hutson, will give remarks.

Activities will continue later that day with an Evening of Celebration at The Crane Resorts and Residences, St. Philip, beginning at 7:00 p.m. Retirees of the Civil Aviation Department will be honoured during a special ceremony and Minister Hutson will deliver the feature address.

A Flag Raising Ceremony will take place on Wednesday, December 7, at the Grantley Adams International Airport, Christ Church, at 9:00 a.m. Minister Hutson will deliver the feature address and this will be immediately followed by a Careers Showcase at the airport for selected schools.
