The Ministry of Transport, Works and Water Resources (MTWW) has advised that the area from Usain Bolt Complex to Waves Hotel, Prospect, St. James, will be closed to general traffic from 6:30 p.m. to midnight on Saturday, May 1, to facilitate the paving of the road.

This comes as part of the ongoing road works associated with the Highway 1 Rehabilitation Project.

Only one-way traffic will be permitted in a northerly direction, and emergency vehicles and appointed public service vehicles will be allowed to travel along that section of the highway.

Residents living on the main road and the adjoining roads/gaps will also be allowed entry. The Transport Board will provide a shuttle service from 6:30 p.m. to midnight.

The general public is kindly asked to use alternative routes and to follow the instructions of the traffic wardens deployed in the specific areas.

The Ministry of Transport, Works and Water Resources apologises for any inconvenience which may be caused.
