Several polyclinic pharmacies, operating under the aegis of the Barbados Drug Service (BDS) will eachclose for ONLY one day during this month, to carry out their annual stocktaking.

Those located at the Glebe Polyclinic in St. George and the St. Thomas Out-patient Clinic will be the first to close on Monday, March 8.

The following day, Tuesday, March 9, the pharmacy at Maurice Byer Polyclinic in Speighstown, St. Peter, will be closed.

This will be followed by the closure of the Randal Phillips Polyclinic in Oistin’s, Christ Church, on Wednesday, March 10.

On Friday, March 12, the pharmacies at Ladymeade Reference Unit at Jemmotts Lane and the Edgar Cochrane Polyclinic in Wildey will not be in operation.

During the week, March 15-20, six pharmacies will close?? to accommodate stocktaking. These are the St. Joseph out-patient and the St. John Out-patient Clinic pharmacies on Monday, March 15; and the St. Philip Polyclinic and Geriatric Hospital pharmacies in Beckles Road which will close on Tuesday, March 16. ??The Black Rock Polyclinic and Psychiatric Hospital pharmacies will also be closed on Thursday, March 18.

The last pharmacies to temporarily halt operations will be those at the Warrens Polyclinic and the Winston Scott Polyclinic, which will do so on Monday, March 22 and Tuesday, March 23, respectively.

Stocktaking is an annual exercise at BDS pharmacies.?? It not only ensures that the physical inventory is up-to-date, but that the public can obtain required supplies at the right times.

While the above mentioned BDS pharmacies will close on the listed dates, the polyclinics will remain OPEN and will continue to provide the normal services. In addition, emergency prescriptions will be honoured as necessary.

Members of the public are advised to arrange their business accordingly.
