Several polyclinic pharmacies, operating under the aegis of the Barbados Drug Service (BDS) will close for one day ONLY during March, to carry out their annual stocktaking.

The pharmacies at the Ladymeade Reference Unit and St. Thomas Out-patient Clinic will be the first to close on Monday, March 9.

The following day, Tuesday, March 10, the pharmacies at Glebe Polyclinic in St. George and Maurice Byer Polyclinic in Speightstown will be closed.

This will be followed by the closure of the pharmacy at Randal Phillips Polyclinic in Oistins, Christ Church on Thursday, March 12.

On Friday, March 13, the pharmacy at the Edgar Cochrane Polyclinic in Wildey will not be open to the public.

During the week, March 16-20, four pharmacies will close to accommodate stocktaking. These are the St. Joseph Out-patient Clinic on Monday, March 16; the St. Philip Polyclinic on Tuesday, March 17; the Black Rock Polyclinic on Thursday, March 19; and the St. John Out-patient Clinic Pharmacy on Friday, March 20.

The last pharmacies to close will be the Warrens and the Winston Scott Polyclinics which will do so on Monday, March 23 and Tuesday, March 24, respectively.

Stocktaking is an annual exercise at BDS pharmacies, which not only ensures that the physical inventory is up-to-date, but that the public can obtain required supplies at the right times.

While the above BDS pharmacies will close on the listed dates, the polyclinics will remain OPEN and will continue to provide the normal services. In addition, emergency prescriptions will be honoured as necessary.

The Ministry of Health apologises for any inconvenience the closure may cause.
