Co-op Mart will continue this Saturday, February 23, on the grounds of the Barbados Transport Co-operative Society Limited at Durants, Christ Church.
It will run from 8.00 a.m. until 4.00 p.m., and will feature a variety of stalls with various specialties.
Some of the entrepreneurs expected to be present are: Prestige Pink Hair and Nail Studio – Cosmetology and therapeutic massage, Nature by Raina – body and facial scrubs, natural soaps, deodorants and lip balm, Kaldayo Designs – cosmetic bags, beach bags and handbags, Adornments Jewelry – locally made costume jewellery, A’s Cakes and Catering – pudding and souse, fishcakes, cakes, sweetbread and juices. There will also be a new farmer to the market, who will have for sale tomatoes, cucumbers, plantains, sweet potatoes and more.
The initiative is the brainchild of the Co-operatives Development Planning Committee, in collaboration with the Co-operatives Department of the Ministry of Small Business, Entrepreneurship and Commerce.
It aims to heighten awareness about entrepreneurs in the marketplace, while giving them another platform to exhibit their goods and services.
Co-op Mart is expected to run until Saturday, March 2.
