The Co-op Mart continues this Saturday, February 16, on the grounds of the Barbados Transport Co-operative Society Limited at Durants, Christ Church, opposite the Barbados Golf Club, from 8.00 a.m. until 4.00 p.m.

It will feature a variety of stalls with various specialties, including jewellery, quality T-Shirts, bags, farming produce, pudding and souse, fishcakes and cakes.

Among the small enterprises expected to be there are: Nature by Raina – body and facial scrubs, natural soaps, deodorants and lip balm; Kaldayo Designs – cosmetic bags, beach bags and hand bags; Adornments Jewelry – locally made costume jewellery; and A’s Cakes and Catering – cakes, fishcakes and pudding and souse.  A new farmer to the market will have for sale tomatoes, cucumbers, plantains, sweet potatoes and more.

Co-op Mart is an initiative of the Co-operatives Development Planning Committee, and it is being held in collaboration with the Co-operatives Department of the Ministry of Small Business, Entrepreneurship and Commerce.

The aim is to heighten awareness about co-operatives in the marketplace, while giving them another platform to exhibit goods and services.

The month-long event is expected to run until Saturday, March 3. Everyone is invited to attend.
