The Co-op Mart will be held again this Saturday, March 23, on the grounds of the Barbados Transport Co-operative Society Limited at Durants, Christ Church.  It will run from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

The Co-operatives Development Planning Committee, in collaboration with the Co-operatives Department of the Ministry of Small Business, Entrepreneurship and Commerce, has, over the past few weeks, brought together small business persons and entrepreneurs in this location, to display a range of specialties. These include farming produce, jewellery, plants, body and facial scrubs, natural soaps, juices, and clothing, among others.

Among the entities on display will be:  Premium Treasures with locally made syrup and vinaigrette; Heritage Teas offering teas and cocoas; Froots A.D. – delicious fruit and vegetable juices; Nature by Raina’s original body and facial scrubs, natural soaps, deodorants and lip balm; Adornments Jewelry – handcrafted jewellery; and A’s Cakes and Catering, specializing in pudding and souse, fishcakes, chicken wings and drinks, including coconut water.

A farmer will be present offering an assortment of farming produce, such as tomatoes, carrots, cucumbers, plantains, and pumpkin.  Clothing will also be on display.

The Co-op Mart aims to heighten awareness about co-operatives as entrepreneurs and innovators in the Barbadian marketplace, while giving them another platform to display or sell their goods and services.
