Co-op Mart is on again this Saturday, December 15, on the grounds of the Barbados Transport Co-operative Society Limited at Durants, Christ Church, opposite the Barbados Golf Club.

Barbadians and visitors alike are being urged to come out and experience the new Co-op Mart that features a variety of stalls with various specialties, including craft, food, beverages, fruits, vegetables and other offerings. It runs from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

Among the entrepreneurs expected to be on hand are:  Blue Island Soap – bath and body products; Carlesa – gluten free green banana flour and pasta and other products; Premium Treasures – locally made syrup and vinaigrette; Heritage Teas – teas and cocoas; FrootsA.D. – fruit and vegetable juices, Rina’s cuisine and Magnolia Chocolatier.

The initiative is the brainchild of the Co-operatives Development Planning Committee, in collaboration with the Co-operatives Department of the Ministry of Small Business, Entrepreneurship and Commerce.

Co-op Mart is sponsored by the Barbados Public Workers Cooperative Credit Union Ltd.  and the City of Bridgetown Cooperative Ltd. It aims to heighten awareness about co-operatives as entrepreneurs in the marketplace while giving them another platform to exhibit their goods and services.

The month-long Co-op Mart, which was officially launched last Saturday, December 8, is expected to run until Saturday, January 12.
