The Division of Youth in the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth has earmarked the week of September 20 as Youth Week.

The week will begin on Sunday, September 20, with a church service at the Carrington Wesleyan Holiness Church, Welches, St. Michael, starting at 10:00 a.m.

Tuesday, September 22, will be marked as Youth Volunteer Day, when individuals and youth groups are encouraged to selflessly give of their time by volunteering in any capacity. Prior to that day, persons are encouraged to register their volunteering project/idea with the Division.

Then on Tuesday, September 22, participants are asked to document their volunteering activity by taking photos and/or videos of the deed and then posting them to the Division???s Facebook page, www.facebook.com/divisionofyouthbarbados. All posts should include the hashtag #246youthweek.

A National Youth Consultation will be held on Wednesday, September 23, under the theme: Barbadian Youth: All Ah We Influencing Change, at Solidarity House, Harmony Hall, St. Michael.

Finally, on Thursday, September 24, there will be a Battle of the Sexes sporting event, which will see teams vie for supremacy in cricket and netball at the Desmond Haynes Complex, Holder???s Hill, St. James. The event will begin at 6:00 p.m.??Members of the public are invited to support the upcoming activities for Youth Week.
