Barbados and the United States are keen to further their already strong bond forged since 1966.

This assurance was given recently by Industry Minister, Donville Inniss when he met with the new US Ambassador, Linda Taglialatela during a courtesy call at his Reef Road office.

Stating that they had ???good relations,??? with her predecessor, Larry Palmer, Minister Inniss impressed upon the Ambassador that he was keen to deepen relations with the United States Embassy, located in Wildey.

Taking the opportunity to mention a few areas worthy of increased dialogue between the two countries, Mr. Inniss cited the imposition of the cover over tax with regard to the rum industry; references to Barbados as a tax haven; and the financial services sector, as priority areas.

In turn, the envoy expressed delight at taking up her new appointment and noted that she planned to ???brush up??? on Barbadian culture once the time permitted.
