Over 3,600 primary school students will sit this year’s Barbados Secondary Schools’ Entrance Examination (BSSEE), also known as the Common Entrance Examination, next Tuesday, May 4.

According to the Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development, 3,694 students are scheduled to take the exam at various centres across the island – a figure that also includes 16 early sitters.

There are 1,844 boys and 1,850 girls taking the 2010 examination that comprises English, Mathematics and an Essay.

Meanwhile, 118 students have deferred, opting to sit the Common Entrance Examination in 2011.

Parents and guardians of students taking the May 4th test are reminded by the Ministry that it starts at 9:00 a.m. They are advised to bring their child/ward to the respective examination centres by 8:30 a.m.
