"Be Beautiful! Be Smart! Be Stylish! But Protect Yourself from HIV/AIDS" will be the theme of a Community Day in Waterford, St. Michael, on Saturday, October 31, from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.

The event, organised by the Waterford HIV/AIDS Education Committee in collaboration with the Community Development Department, will take place on the grounds of the Waterford Community Centre.

During the day, patrons can have several health checks carried out, including HIV, glucose, cholesterol and blood pressure. There will also be product sampling, aerobics, sports, games and entertainment. Stall spaces are available for persons who wish to offer products for sale.

Meanwhile, the Community Development Department is urging all residents of St. Joseph to get involved in the efforts to promote HIV/AIDS awareness.

Residents are therefore invited to a special meeting on Sunday, October 25, at the Grantley Adams Memorial School, Blackman’s, St. Joseph, at 4: 30 p.m.

The Department is seeking to form an HIV/AIDS Education Committee within the parish.
