A Community Appreciation Day based on the theme: Educating Individuals Empowering Our Community, will be held on Saturday, October 27, at the Grazettes Resource Centre, Grazettes, St. Michael, from 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.
The event is being hosted by the Community Development Department in collaboration with the Grazettes HIV/AIDS Education Committee.
The Community Day is being staged to educate members of the community about the benefits of practising healthy lifestyles. Activities will include free HIV testing and counselling, glucose and cholesterol testing, blood pressure and fitness checks, and breast screening.
In addition, there will be soca aerobics and Zumba burn sessions, free computer checks and product sampling, and a special on manicures, pedicures and facials.??
A variety of household items; ladies, gents and children’s clothing; costume jewelry and beauty supplies will be on sale.
A team from a mobile service provider will be on hand to offer specials on handsets, internet, landline and TV specials.
