An exciting itinerary awaits participants in this year’s Community Arts Career Programme, which will get under way on July 1.

The six-month programme, coordinated by the Community Development Department, will provide courses for budding artists and art enthusiasts at several resource centres across the island.

These include ???Drawing and Illustration’ at the Haggatt Hall, Speightstown, and St. Christopher Resource Centres in St. Michael, St. Peter and Christ Church, respectively.

The ???Air Brushing’ course will take place at the Grazettes, St. Christopher and Speightstown centres, while ???Computer Graphics’ will be taught at Haggatt Hall, Grazettes, St. Christopher and Speightstown.

Classes will be held during the week from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. There will be a minimal registration fee and persons are asked to sign up as soon as possible.

Students who registered for courses in 2009 and all new applicants are also asked to visit the following resource centres: Speightstown on Monday, June 14, between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.; Grazettes on Tuesday, June 15, between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.; Haggatt Hall on Wednesday, June 16, between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. and St. Christopher on Thursday, June 17, between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

The Community Arts Career Programme, which is in its eight year, has so far trained a number of artists, some of whom are now tutors in the programme.
