The crowds are growing larger and the dance routines look sharper, as the Community Dance Fest Zone Finals continue to thrill audiences across the island.

Last Tuesday, a number of male and female dancers from the Southern Zone faced the judges at the Foundation School, Church Hill, Christ Church.??

The well choreographed routines of New Era of Praise Academy of Dance, Adrenaline, Tabia and Les Filles Magnifique captured the attention of the panel of judges headed by Chief Judge, Alicia Payne.

New Era executed an energetic piece entitled "End Times" – a performance which resonated with the audience about the need to prepare for the return of Jesus Christ. Tabia’s up tempo performance to reigning Calypso Monarch Red Plastic Bag’s "Something’s Happening", was also well received by the spectators.

Adrenaline, an all-male group was also a crowd pleaser, while the Les Filles Magnifique, an all-female contingent, utilised stage props to enhance their performance depicting the emotional distress individuals experienced at the loss of a loved one.

There was also a line dancing number by Spring Thorne, followed by a salsa piece by Patricia Callender and Frank Brathwaite.

The Community Dance Fest competition is organised and funded by the Community Development Department.??jwilson@barbados.gov.bb
