Barbadian children between the ages of nine and 15 will have a unique opportunity to learn more about animation this summer.

That is because the Community Development Department will host a workshop series on ???Cartooning and Animation’ at the Haggatt Hall Resource Centre, Cutting Road, St. Michael, Mondays to Fridays from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.??

It will run for six weeks and the registration date is this coming Monday, July 6. The training will be used to develop an HIV/AIDS educational tool for young persons in the community.

One of the techniques to be explored during the workshop is ???claymation’, where clays models, through photographic manipulation, are used to create moving figures.

In addition to this programme, the Department will host a ???Precepts for Life Training Camp’, which will be held for children ages seven to 12, at the Rockfield Community Centre, Rockfield, St. Lucy.

The camp will run for five weeks, beginning at 9:30 a.m. Registration will also take place on Monday, July 6. The training camp will teach participants important life, social and academic skills.
