The Community Development Department, under the Ministry of Social Care, Constituency Empowerment and Community Development, is encouraging the public to sign up for their upcoming classes.

Persons interested in learning computer repairs, should register now for the Computer Repairs Course which will begin next Monday, June 6, and run for four months. The course will focus on PC Maintenance, Setting Up Networks, Spyware and Virus Removal, and Printer Troubleshooting.

It will be held at the resource centres at St. Christopher, Christ Church; Speightstown, St. Peter; and Deacons, and Haggatt Hall, St. Michael.

Meanwhile, aspiring artists can register for the Community Art Programme which is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, June 14. Drawing and Illustration; Computer Graphics; Animation and Airbrushing, will be the topics covered. Classes will be conducted over an eight month period at the resource centres at Deacons, Speightstown, St. Christopher, Haggatt Hall and Grazettes.

Additionally, the Department will once again stage its Information Technology Summer Teens Programme (IT for TEENS), which will run from Monday, July 18 and Friday, August 26.

IT for TEENS caters to teenagers between the ages of 13 and 17, and was designed to enhance their Information Technology skills. The programme includes Computer Graphics, Website Design, Internet Savvy, and Microsoft Office 2010.

It will be offered at the Bonnetts, Deacons and Grazettes Resource Centres, all in St. Michael; Briar Hall Resource Centre, Christ Church; Weston Resource Centre, St. James; Speightstown Resource Centre, St. Peter; and Rices Centre, St. Philip.
