In an effort to raise awareness of non-communicable diseases, the Community Development Department will host a healthy living poster and notebook competition, under the theme: Healthy food + Exercise for Prevention of NCD’s.

Primary school students from private, public and special needs institutions, between the ages of eight and11, are invited to enter. The competition will run from Tuesday, May 2, to Friday, June 9, and students must register by Tuesday, May 16.

Registration forms may be collected from and must be returned to the Community Development Department, 4th Floor East Wing, Warrens Office Complex, St. Michael.

The 1st place winner will receive a 24’’ bicycle; 2nd place, a trampoline with an enclosure; and 3rd place will receive a 20” bicycle.

All winning entries will be used to create a poster and notebook for distribution and sale, and all funds will be donated to the Diabetes Association of Barbados. The deadline for entries is Friday, June 9, between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
