The grounds of the National Union of Public Workers were filled with activity yesterday as the National Disabilities Unit hosted their community expo, entitled, All Inclusive Society: Empowering Persons with Disabilities.

The expo, held from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the union???s Dalkeith, St. Michael headquarters is coordinated each year by the National Disabilities Unit to celebrate the Month of the Disabled.

The annual expo provides persons with disabilities the opportunity to be included in community-based activities, promote their services and products and display their talents.

The day???s activities began with a short opening ceremony and performances, and also featured several arts and craft displays, aids-to-daily living, and supportive devices and technologies as well as motivational sessions and health checks.

Members of the public, as well as students from various primary and secondary schools across Barbados participated and supported the expo.??
