The community meetings on the Physical Development Plan (PDP), which is currently being amended, will continue this Friday, March 3, at Queen’s Park Steel Shed, Bridgetown, beginning at 6:00 p.m.

Another discussion will be held on Monday, March 6, at The Alleyne School, starting at 6:00 p.m., while the final one will be on Saturday, March 11, at Oistins Bay Gardens, Christ Church, from 3:00 p.m.

Free health checks will be provided at the meetings, which are being hosted by the Town Planning Department and a consortium of local, regional and international consultants, headed by Urban Strategies Inc., in association with Ecoisle Consulting Inc.

In addition, a copy of the Draft Amendment to the PDP may be viewed on the Town Planning Department’s website, and at the Town and Country Planning Department, Block C, The Garrison, St. Michael, from 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., daily.

The draft PDP Amendment addresses major issues and opportunities, including land scarcity for agriculture and future large-scale residential subdivisions; transport challenges; preparing for climate change; transitioning to a green economy; and protecting cultural heritage.
