Over the next few weeks, a number of communities across Barbados will be targeted as part of Government’s Country Assessment of Living Conditions (CALC) research project.

The areas to be visited are: Deacon’s Farm, Pine and Wildey, King William, Nelson, Vine and Wellington Streets and River Road in St. Michael; St. Matthias and Silver Hill in Christ Church; Marchfield, St Philip; Redman’s Village, St. Thomas; Haynesville and Orange Hill in St. James; St. Jude’s, St. George; Six Men’s, St. Peter; and Gall Hill, Newcastle, Church View, Small Hope, Haynes Hill and Coach Hill in St. John.

The information obtained from this in-depth research in specific areas will be combined with that collected through the Survey of Living Conditions, to assist the Ministry of Social Care in providing an accurate reading of the situations faced by the most vulnerable persons/groups in various communities.

Residents in these districts are urged to cooperate with members of the research team who will be wearing appropriate identification cards.

Further information on the CALC may be obtained by visiting the website www.socialcare.gov.bb/calc or by calling the Ministry of Social Care at 310-1600.??
