Over 100 participants will convene in Barbados for two days, to examine issues surrounding Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Financing of Terrorism.

The Caribbean Financial Action Task Force (CFATF) will host its 8th Conference on Thursday, January 31 to Friday, February 1, at the Tom Adams Financial Centre, and stakeholders will discuss the topic: Taking the Profit out of Transnational Organised Crime through the highest levels of Compliance with International Standards.

The second and final day of the meeting, Friday, February 1, will target Designated Non-Financial Businesses and Professionals, in the Barbados context, Attorneys-at-Law, Accountants, Dealers in Precious Metals and Precious Stones, Real Estate agents, Trust and Corporate Service Providers et, as well as those entities which are desirous of learning more about building a compliance programme.

The two-day consultation, which is a collaborative venture between the CFATF, the Central Bank of Barbados; the Anti-Money Laundering Authority; Barbados International Business Association and the Barbados Association of Compliance Professionals, will feature speakers from the United Kingdom, Trinidad and Barbados.
