The National Agricultural Health and Food Control Programme of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food, Fisheries and Water Resource Management is inviting persons or firms to submit expressions of interest for consultancy services.

The consultancy is for the assessment of Barbados??? primary industries as it relates to determining its status on the application of food safety standards and to develop the required protocols and food quality assurance systems for implementation.

The consultant will be required to assess Barbados??? primary industries to determine the status of the implementation of Good Agricultural Practices, Good Hygiene Practices, as well as food quality assurance systems.

The specialist will also be asked to develop an on-farm food safety policy and programme, as well as the required protocols and manuals for Good Manufacturing Practices and food quality assurance systems.

They will also develop pilot project proposals and conduct training with internal stakeholders in the execution of the training programme developed.

Eligible firms or consortiums who are interested in providing the consultancy services must provide along with a cover letter, a brief description of their business, inclusive of their organisation and staff; current programmes and services; as well as financial capability to complete the project.

In addition, they must demonstrate that they hold the relevant qualifications, experience and capability in the field of the assignment for the plan, which is estimated to last 127 days.

The original and one hard copy of the Expression of Interest must be placed in a sealed envelope, and must be clearly marked Expression of Interest ??? Assessment of Barbados??? Primary Industries in Relation to Determining its Status on the Application of Food Safety Standards and to Develop the Required Protocols and Food Quality Assurance Systems for Implementation.

The request should be submitted on or before Wednesday, March 4, and addressed to The Chairman, Tenders Committee, Central Purchasing Department, Fontabelle, St. Michael, Barbados. No electronic applications will be accepted.
