The Ministry of Small Business, Entrepreneurship and Commerce will celebrate World Consumer Rights Day on Friday, March 15, with an outreach programme in National Heroes Square, The City, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Members of the public are encouraged to come out and interact with staff from a number of departments under the Ministry, and learn more about consumer rights and the work of these divisions, as a whole.

The entities are the Fair Trading Commission, the Barbados National Standards Institution, the Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs and the Office of the Public Counsel. Staff will disseminate pamphlets and brochures and educate persons about their rights and responsibilities, the remedies and options available to consumers, and will respond to general queries.

There will also be quizzes, and entertainment by DJ Admiral Nelson, the host of the event. Minister of Small Business, Entrepreneurship and Commerce, Dwight Sutherland will also be in attendance.

All are invited to join in the celebrations.
