The second wave of resource personnel participating in phase two of Exercise Tradewinds 2019 has set sail for St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

The contingent comprises military and para-military personnel, doctors, nurses, emergency medical technicians, and other resource personnel of the Barbados Defence Force (BDF) Field Medical Facility (FMF), which will be deployed for the first time since its creation.

The team is being led by Commander of the FMF, Major Marilyn Patrick; Major (retired) Andrew Darlington, and Major Junior Browne.

This year’s exercise will allow the BDF FMF to assess its capacity to function as part of the regional response mechanism. They set sail on board the Canadian vessel HMCS GOOSE BAY, which is captained by Dan Rice.
