The Cotton Closed Season remains in effect until Saturday, August 15, 2015.

During this period, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food, Fisheries and Water Resource Management is advising owners of cotton fields to have their fields swiped, harrowed or ploughed and readied for the new season.

Farmers are reminded that it is illegal to have standing cotton, referred to as cotton re-growth, during the closed season.
