One of the newly launched Constituency Councils is already making strides to ensure that its residents are prepared this hurricane season.

The St. Michael North East Constituency Council has implemented a clean-up campaign following concerns raised recently during their community walk-throughs. The venture involves the clearing of drains and the removal of waste to allow the easy flow of water, and to prevent occurrences of dengue fever and leptospirosis. There will also be removal of trees from selected areas.

Tomorrow, Saturday, July 9, members of the Council will visit Mahaica Gap, Lewis Gap and Storey Gap communities, from 10:00 a.m. They will inform residents about a bulk waste clean-up for those districts that is scheduled for Monday, July 11, to officially start the campaign.

The initiative is being hosted by the Council in association with the Sanitation Service Authority and the inspectorate of the Warrens Polyclinic.??
