Retrenched workers from the National Environment Enhancement Programme (NEEP) will soon be able to visit a counselling desk at the Ministry of the Environment and Drainage to get assistance in addressing issues.

Minister of the Environment and Drainage, Dr. Denis Lowe, said the area was being established at the Ministry to assist NEEP workers by providing them with information on how to proceed in making contact with the National Insurance Department, the Welfare Department and other social services which would be important to their transition.

???It is the Ministry???s obligation to assist them and minimise the bewilderment they may be experiencing from the discontinuation of the NEEP Programme,??? he said, stressing that persons should be advised by the Ministry on where they needed to go at this time.

He added that further announcements will be made as soon as the counselling desk became operational.
