DASHBOARD-Isolation-Vaccination-Oct-10-2021

This report gives a breakdown of persons in isolation facilities as at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 10.

There were 561 people in isolation. Of these, 476 patients (85 per cent) were unvaccinated and 49 (nine per cent) were fully vaccinated. Three of the fully vaccinated patients, who were in primary isolation, were in need of care, and the other 46 were in tertiary isolation.

Thirty-six persons – one in primary, two in secondary, and 33 in tertiary isolation – were partially vaccinated for COVID-19.

Primary and secondary isolation for COVID-19 patients in Barbados are units which accommodate those who are very ill and need close monitoring and treatment with primary isolation housing the most severely ill.

Meanwhile, tertiary isolation houses patients who are only mildly ill or not showing illness. It is important to note that the number of persons in isolation is fluid and changes throughout the day as persons are admitted and discharged.
