Of the 25 COVID-related deaths which occurred in Barbados during the period Friday, October 22, to Thursday, October 28, there were 14 females (56 per cent) in this number.

Their ages ranged from 40 to 97, with the average age being 68.  Underlying illnesses or comorbidities were found in 88 per cent of the deceased, with 15 persons (60 per cent) having more than one comorbidity.

The two main comorbidities reported were diabetes and hypertension. The other underlying medical conditions were asthma, dementia, Parkinson’s, kidney disease, and Alzheimers and other psychiatric disorders. 

Twenty-two out of the 25 deceased were unvaccinated.
