Thirteen people were diagnosed with COVID-19 on Tuesday, March 16, from the 418 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.

Meanwhile, 31 persons recovered from the virus. The number of active cases has been steadily declining and is now 147.

The 13 persons identified as COVID-19 positive comprise four men and nine women. 

The island has recorded 3,471 confirmed cases – 1,648 females and 1,823 males – and 3,285 people have recovered from the virus since the first case was identified in March 2020.

The public health laboratory has so far completed 134,448 tests.

As part of the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, 1,493 people were vaccinated on Tuesday. To date, a total of 54,631 vaccinations have been administered – 22,870 men and 31,761 women.
