Eighteen new positive cases of COVID-19 were recorded on Sunday, March 7, from the 305 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.

There were 32 recoveries, bringing the number of active cases to 419.

The 18 new cases comprised seven men and 11 women. Fifteen of them had already been at the Harrison Point Isolation Facility undergoing assessment to determine whether they were newly positive, or had COVID-19 in the past and were no longer infectious.

Barbados has recorded 3,303 confirmed cases – 1,561 females and 1,742 males – and 2,847 persons have recovered.  There have been 37 deaths from COVID-19.

The public health laboratory has so far completed 130,369 tests.

There were 411 persons vaccinated on Sunday, as part of the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19. To date, a total of 49,317 vaccinations have been administered – 20,729 men and 28,588 women.
