Twenty people – seven males and 13 females – have gone into isolation after testing positive for COVID-19.

The new cases were identified among the 480 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory on Thursday, March 18.  There are now 184 active cases on the island.

Twenty-five persons were released from isolation, bringing the total recoveries to 3,282. Thirty-nine people have died from the viral illness.

Since the start of the pandemic, Barbados has recorded 3,512 confirmed cases, comprising 1,834 males and 1,678 females.  

The public health laboratory has so far conducted 135,501 tests.

Meanwhile, 2,189 people were vaccinated under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19 on March 18. To date, 58,214 vaccinations have been completed, comprising 24,297 males and 33,917 females.
