One person died from COVID-19 on Monday, May 3. 

The 63-year-old man was admitted to the Harrison Point Isolation Facility on April 23, and passed away after spending six days on a ventilator. His death brings to 45 the number of people who have succumbed to the virus.

Meanwhile, three new positive cases of COVID-19 – two males and one female -were identified from among the 401 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.

Thirteen people recovered from the virus and were discharged. There are currently 81 persons in isolation.

Confirmed COVID-19 cases recorded since March 2020 have moved to 3,884 (1,887 females and 1,997 males), and there have been 3,817 recoveries. The public health laboratory has conducted a total of 155,353 tests.

Under the National Vaccination Programme, 75,006 vaccinations (first and second doses) have been administered.  To date, 19,985 people have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 during the second phase of the programme.
