Barbados recorded six new positive cases of COVID-19 on Monday, April 5. They comprise three men and three women.

The new cases were identified from among the 271 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.

Twenty people also recovered and were released from isolation. There are now 102 persons in isolation.       

The island has recorded 3,691 confirmed cases (1,783 females and 1,908 males) from the start of the pandemic, and there have been 3,557 recoveries.  Forty-three people have died from COVID-19.

The public health laboratory has conducted 143,597 tests, since February 2020. To date, 63,738 people – 26,344 men and 37,394 women – have been vaccinated as part of the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19.
