A 66-year-old Barbadian woman with comorbidities is the 46th person to have died from COVID-19.  She passed away on Tuesday, May 11.

There were also seven new positive cases (six males and one female) recorded on Tuesday.  They were identified from among the 758 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.

Nine people recovered from the viral illness and were discharged, while 107 persons remain in isolation.

Confirmed COVID-19 cases recorded since March 2020 have reached 3,957 (1,911 females and 2,046 males), and there have been 3,879 recoveries.

The public health laboratory has carried out 160,664 tests from February last year. Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, 75,644 people have been vaccinated (first and second doses). Of these, 36,598 persons have been fully immunised during the second phase of the programme.
