A total of 325 people, 141 males and184 females, tested positive for COVID-19 from the 693 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory on Tuesday, August 2.
The cases consisted of 40 persons under the age of 18, and 285 who were 18 years and older.
There were 67 people in isolation facilities, while 2,664 were in home isolation.
As at August 2, there were 495 COVID-19 related deaths.
The public health laboratory has conducted 730,303 tests since February 2020, and recorded 92,841 COVID-19 cases (42,219 males and 50,622 females).
Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the total number of persons with at least one dose is 162,960 (71.3 per cent of the eligible population). The total number of fully vaccinated persons is 154,016 (56.8 per cent of the total population or 67.4 per cent of the eligible population). The eligible population represents those persons who are 12 years and older.
