A total of 66 new COVID-19 cases – 30 males and 36 females – were identified by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory on Monday, December 20, from the 1,058 tests conducted.

Of these, five persons are under the age of 18, while 60 are 18 years and older. The age of one person is unknown.

There were 155 people in isolation facilities, while 979 were in home isolation. As at December 20, there were 256 deaths from the virus.

The public health laboratory has carried out 460,547 tests since February last year, and recorded 27,308 cases (12,977 males and 14,331 females) of COVID-19.

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the total number of persons with at least one dose is 155,312 (68 per cent of the eligible population). The total number of persons who are fully vaccinated is 142,281 (52.5 per cent of the total population or 62.3 per cent of the eligible population). The eligible population represents those persons who are 12 years and older.
