There were 96 new cases of COVID-19, 40 males and 56 females, recorded on Friday, June 17, out of 488 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.           

Of that number, there were 29 persons under the age of 18, and 67 persons 18 years and older. There are now 23 persons in isolation facilities and 961 in home isolation. No deaths were recorded, and the number of persons who have died from the viral illness remains at 471.           

Since February 2020, the public health laboratory has carried out 696, 992 tests and recorded 82, 826 cases (37, 735 males and 45, 091 females) of COVID-19.           

Under the National Vaccination Programme for the virus, the total number of persons with at least one dose is 162, 534 (71.2 per cent of the eligible population).

The total number of persons who are fully vaccinated is 153, 230 (56.5 per cent of the total population, or 67.1 per cent of the eligible population). The eligible population represents those persons who are 12 years and older.
