One hundred and sixty-four new COVID-19 cases, 74 males and 90 females, were recorded on Monday, November 29. The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory carried out 1,165 tests.

The positive cases comprised 40 persons under the age of 18, and 124 who were 18 years and older. The number of people in isolation facilities was 457, while 2,601 were in home isolation.

An unvaccinated 28-year-old woman died from COVID-19 on Monday.  She succumbed to the viral illness at the Harrison’s Point Isolation Facility. COVID-19 deaths, as at November 29, stood at 229.

Since February last year, the public health laboratory has conducted 436,531 tests, and recorded 25,316 COVID-19 cases (12,065 males and 13,251 females).

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the total number of persons with at least one dose is 153,582 (67.2 per cent of the eligible population). The total number of persons who are fully vaccinated is 136,754 (50.5 per cent of the total population or 59.9 per cent of the eligible population). The eligible population represents those persons who are 12 years and older.
