A total of 355 new COVID-19 cases (156 males and 199 females) were recorded for the period Saturday, April 23, from the 1,213 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory. 

The new positives comprised 55 persons who are under the age of 18, and 300 who are 18 years and older. There were 86 people in isolation facilities, and 3,175 in home isolation.

Barbados’ confirmed COVID-19 cases stand at 67,611 (31,099 males and 36,512 females), and the number of deaths is 389.

The public health laboratory has carried out 641,298 tests since February 2020. Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the total number of persons with at least one dose is 161,641 (70.8 per cent of the eligible population).

The total number of fully vaccinated persons is 151,805 (66,480 males and 85,325 females), which is 56 per cent of the total population or 66.5 per cent of the eligible population. The eligible population represents those persons who are 12 years and older.
