A total of 79 new COVID-19 cases (39 males and 40 females) were recorded on Sunday, March 13, from the 611 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.

The cases comprised 20 persons under the age of 18, and 59 who were 18 years and older. There were 48 people in isolation facilities, while 1,307 were in home isolation. A 77-year-old unvaccinated woman died from the virus on Sunday. As at March 13, the viral illness had claimed 326 lives.

The public health laboratory has carried out 598,374 tests since February 2020, and recorded 57,102 COVID-19 cases (26,469 males and 30,633 females).

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the total number of persons with at least one dose is 160,650 (70.3 per cent of the eligible population). 

The total number of fully vaccinated persons is 150,377 (55.5 per cent of the total population or 65.8 per cent of the eligible population). The eligible population represents those persons who are 12 years and older.
