The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory identified 196 new COVID-19 cases, 82 males and 114 females, on Sunday, November 7, and conducted 1,163 tests. 

The new positives comprised 43 persons who were under the age of 18, and 153 who were 18 years and older. There were 915 people in isolation facilities, and 6,780 in home isolation.

One death was recorded, that of a 46-year-old Barbadian male who died at the Accident and Emergency department of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. He was unvaccinated. As at November 7, 2021, the number of deaths from the viral illness was 181.

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the total number of persons with at least one dose is 150,437 (65.9 per cent of the eligible population). A total of 129,966 persons (48 per cent of the total population or 57 per cent of the eligible population) have received their second doses and are fully vaccinated. The eligible population represents those persons who are 12 years and older. 

The public health laboratory has carried out 402,884 tests since the beginning of the pandemic and recorded 20,265 confirmed cases (9,783 males and 10,482 females) of COVID-19.
