The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory recorded 403 new COVID-19 cases – 173 males and 230 females – from the 1,972 tests carried out on Thursday, February 10.

The cases consisted of 73 persons under the age of 18, and 330 who were 18 years and older. There were 184 people in isolation facilities, while 9,034 were in home isolation. As at February 10, there were 291 deaths from the virus.

The public health laboratory has carried out 562,817 tests since February 2020, and recorded 50,880 COVID-19 cases (23,572 males and 27,308 females).

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the total number of persons with at least one dose is 159,337 (69.8 per cent of the eligible population). 

The total number of persons who are fully vaccinated is 148,139 (54.7 per cent of the total population or 64.9 per cent of the eligible population). The eligible population represents those persons who are 12 years and older.
