The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory identified 154 positive cases of COVID-19 – 74 males and 80 females – on Thursday, November 25. Tests conducted numbered 1,364.
Of the new cases, 33 persons were under the age of 18, and 121 were 18 years and older. There were 563 people in isolation facilities, and 3,818 in home isolation.
Three people died on Thursday; two men, aged 78 and 94, died at the Harrison’s Point and Queen’s College Isolation Facilities, and a 43-year-old woman passed away at the Accident and Emergency Department of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. They were all unvaccinated. As at November 25, COVID-19 had claimed 219 lives.
The public health laboratory has carried out 432,172 tests since February last year, and recorded 24,769 cases (11,828 males and 12,941 females) of COVID-19.
Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the total number of persons with at least one dose is 153,391 (67.2 per cent of the eligible population). The total number of persons who are fully vaccinated is 136,103 (50.2 per cent of the total population or 59.6 per cent of the eligible population). The eligible population represents those persons who are 12 years and older.
