A total of 240 COVID-19 cases, 105 males and 135 females, were identified on Tuesday, July 12, from the 707 tests carried out by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.

Of the new cases, 40 persons were under the age of 18, and 200 were 18 years and older. There were 38 people in isolation facilities, while 1,634 were in home isolation.

As at July 12, there were 479 COVID-19 related deaths, following a community death over the past two weeks.

The public health laboratory has conducted 713,255 tests since February 2020, and recorded 86,691 COVID-19 cases (39,635 males and 47,056 females).

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the total number of persons with at least one dose is 162,765 (71.3 per cent of the eligible population).  

The total number of fully vaccinated persons is 153,742 (56.7 per cent of the total population or 67.3 per cent of the eligible population).  The eligible population represents those persons who are 12 years and older.
