The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory identified 384 new COVID-19 cases, 161 males and 223 females, from the 1,013 tests carried out on Tuesday, July 26.

Of the positive cases, 55 persons were under the age of 18, and 329 were 18 years and older. There were 64 people in isolation facilities, while 2,959 were in home isolation.

An 84-year-old woman died from the virus on Tuesday.  Additionally, the Coroner’s Office reported that there were four additional COVID-19 related deaths which occurred in the community within the past two weeks.  As at July 26, there were 489 COVID-19 related deaths.

The public health laboratory has conducted 725,254 tests since February 2020, and recorded 90,934 COVID-19 cases (41,425 males and 49,509 females).

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the total number of persons with at least one dose is 162,911 (71.3 per cent of the eligible population).  

The total number of fully vaccinated persons is 153,941 (56.8 per cent of the total population or 67.4 per cent of the eligible population).  The eligible population represents those persons who are 12 years and older.
