There were 120 new COVID-19 cases, 52 males and 68 females, recorded on Tuesday, June 28, from the 542 tests carried out by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.

Of the positive cases, 20 persons were under the age of 18, and 100 were 18 years and older. The number of people in isolation facilities was 37, while 1,118 were in home isolation.

No deaths were reported yesterday. However, reports from the Coroner’s Office showed that there were three COVID-19 related deaths, which occurred in the community, over the past two weeks.  This brings the number of deaths from the viral illness to 476.

The public health laboratory has conducted 704,051 tests since February 2020, and recorded 84,095 COVID-19 cases (38,384 males and 45,711 females).

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the total number of persons with at least one dose is 162,589 (71.2 per cent of the eligible population). 

The total number of fully vaccinated persons is 153,481 (56.6 per cent of the total population or 67.2 per cent of the eligible population).  The eligible population represents those persons who are 12 years and older.
