As at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 26, 2022, there were 118 patients in isolation facilities (26 in primary, 66 in secondary and 26 in tertiary isolation).

Of these, 56 patients (48 per cent) were unvaccinated, and 57 (48 per cent) were fully vaccinated. The unvaccinated comprised 18 persons in primary, 28 in secondary and 10 in tertiary isolation. Of those fully vaccinated, seven patients were in primary isolation, 36 in secondary and 14 were in tertiary isolation.

Additionally, five people, one in primary and two each in secondary and tertiary isolation, were partially vaccinated for COVID-19.

Primary and secondary isolation for COVID-19 patients in Barbados are units which accommodate those who are very ill and need close monitoring and treatment, with primary isolation housing the most severely ill. Tertiary isolation houses patients who are only mildly ill or not showing illness.

It is important to note that the number of persons in isolation is fluid and changes throughout the day as persons are admitted and discharged.
